The Taounate Municipality is organizing a program titled “The Attractiveness of Our City is Our Priority” in celebration of the International Open Government Week, taking place from May 19 to May 29, 2025. This event is part of the municipality’s 2025–2026 Open Government Action Plan and is held under the supervision of the General Directorate of Territorial Communities of the Ministry of Interior.

The initiative, which officially began on May 17 and runs until May 30, 2025, aims to promote the principles of civic participation and participatory democracy. Activities will be launched in the administrative district and the local sports field, in coordination with several local associations and advisory bodies.
The event includes community engagement, awareness-raising, and activities designed to enhance the city’s appeal and sustainability, with the active involvement of citizens and civil society.

The Open Government Challenge is a call to action for all members of OGP to raise ambition in ten areas of open government to help strengthen our democracies. Over the next five years, all members of the Partnership should aim to raise the ambition of reforms in 10 policy areas and demonstrate relevant progress in as many of the areas of the Challenge through their OGP action plans or beyond.We must act together to make a difference, because only when governments, public officials, and civil society work together, we see more ambitious and impactful reforms that transform our communities.

It’s our time to meet the moment. Let’s use Open Gov Week to take on the the Open Gov Challenge.
