Strengthening Local Transparency and Accountability in Extractive Governance
This session aims to strengthen understanding of how transparency and accountability in the extractive sector can be advanced at the local level. Building on PH-EITI’s SET-UP-GO initiative, the event will explore how localized access to extractives data, participatory governance mechanisms, and national transparency frameworks support more effective decision-making in resource-rich communities. Participants will learn how open government and local governance reforms intersect to improve planning, budgeting, and oversight in extractive areas. The session also highlights the vital role of civil society and communities in ensuring that transparency leads to meaningful participation and more responsive local governance.
For one week in May, come together to share ideas, discuss solutions, and commit to new levels of citizen participation in government.
