Purpose of the roundtable: To create a professional platform for discussing ways to strengthen trust between the authorities and society and to enhance the openness of the financial system in the region.
Representatives of public authorities and civil society experts will discuss the current state of openness in the activities of public authorities, transparency of budget policy, support for the participation of civil society organizations in monitoring and analyzing budget operations, the division of powers among public authorities, and mechanisms for citizen participation, particularly among young people, in decision-making processes that affect the effectiveness of public governance.
As a result of the event, joint proposals will be developed to improve the mechanisms and procedures for implementing regional budget policy, strengthen citizen participation in decision-making, and adapt Ukrainian practices to EU legislation.

15 Years of the Open Government Partnership

OGP Logo

Fifteen years ago, OGP launched with a simple but radical premise: that government should serve the people, not the other way around. Over fifteen years, OGP has become the foremost global forum for advancing transparency, accountability, and public participation in government.

In an era of democratic regression and geopolitical fragmentation, platforms that sustain targeted collaborations among likeminded states and between governments and civil society are strategically vital. OGP is one of the few to endure.

The next phase requires action across the partnership: Governments forming cross-border coalitions to address common priorities; political leaders integrating openness into core national agendas; donors and funders sustaining investment and enabling scale; civil society continuing to propose, push, monitor, and demand.

The question ahead is scale and commitment.
