Kick Starting the Celebration of the OGP Week in Nigeria, Today we join our partners, civil society, media from the OGP Community for a Press Conference on the State of OGP implementation in Nigeria.
During the press conference we highlighted the need to Redouble effort through collective action and call on government to demonstrate strong political will, strengthen coordination, create inclusive spaces for civic engagement, provide funding for OGP Implementation and urge the President to sign the NAP IV when transmitted before July, 2026.

Open Government reforms must go beyond policy declaration and translate into concrete actions that improve transparency, accountability, participatory governance and effective service delivery.

Many thanks to our partners MacArthur Foundation, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office FCDO, European Union in Nigeria, Open Government Partnership OGP, PERL Nigeria for supporting the OGP Process in Nigeria over the years. It’s been ten years of supporting reforms, pushing the implementation of commitments and deepening the co-creation process, We say Thank You.

Let’s do me, it’s time to reflect, rethink and Redouble Collective Effort toward Effective Service Delivery and Sustainable Development.

15 Years of the Open Government Partnership

OGP Logo

Fifteen years ago, OGP launched with a simple but radical premise: that government should serve the people, not the other way around. Over fifteen years, OGP has become the foremost global forum for advancing transparency, accountability, and public participation in government.

In an era of democratic regression and geopolitical fragmentation, platforms that sustain targeted collaborations among likeminded states and between governments and civil society are strategically vital. OGP is one of the few to endure.

The next phase requires action across the partnership: Governments forming cross-border coalitions to address common priorities; political leaders integrating openness into core national agendas; donors and funders sustaining investment and enabling scale; civil society continuing to propose, push, monitor, and demand.

The question ahead is scale and commitment.
