Nordic+ meeting on Public Participation and Citizen Engagement in Decision-Making
Public participation is central to how governments function, communicate and build trust with citizens, and ensure the quality of its policies. At a time where citizens are becoming less engaged and the information integrity is compromised on a daily basis, it is increasingly important to ensure the public is properly included in decision-making, through both innovative approaches and standardised ways of working across the government.
Are the individual successes and practices adding up to a changed culture in government? Do citizens feel trusted and included? The answers to these questions are not only vital to the basic functioning of our states but to the resilience of our democracies. To unpack that, the event will bring together reformers from the government, civil society, and academia for high level, strategic segments as well as breakout sessions that dive into the weeds of the issue.
The Nordic+ is an informal regional peer exchange caucus where OGP government points of contact and civil society alike meet to cross-pollinate ideas, identify best open government practices, and share their experiences in implementing open government reforms.

For one week in May, come together to share ideas, discuss solutions, and commit to new levels of citizen participation in government.
