The Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Program organized by Aimee Thrive Initiatives at the campus environment of Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology was a health education and advocacy initiative designed to promote awareness, education, and open conversations around menstrual health among female students.
The program focused on educating participants on proper menstrual hygiene practices, the safe use and disposal of sanitary products, menstrual health management, and breaking cultural myths and stigma associated with menstruation. It featured interactive health talks, sensitization sessions, practical demonstrations, and student engagement activities that encouraged confidence, self-care, and informed decision-making.
The initiative aimed to empower young women with accurate knowledge, improve personal hygiene practices, and foster a supportive campus environment where menstrual health is recognized as an essential aspect of overall wellbeing and academic success.

15 Years of the Open Government Partnership

OGP Logo

Fifteen years ago, OGP launched with a simple but radical premise: that government should serve the people, not the other way around. Over fifteen years, OGP has become the foremost global forum for advancing transparency, accountability, and public participation in government.

In an era of democratic regression and geopolitical fragmentation, platforms that sustain targeted collaborations among likeminded states and between governments and civil society are strategically vital. OGP is one of the few to endure.

The next phase requires action across the partnership: Governments forming cross-border coalitions to address common priorities; political leaders integrating openness into core national agendas; donors and funders sustaining investment and enabling scale; civil society continuing to propose, push, monitor, and demand.

The question ahead is scale and commitment.
