Change the System Without Waiting to Come of Age!
Purpose of the event: To provide young people with a platform to present bold and innovative solutions that can make local self-government more transparent, accountable, and understandable for every resident of the community.
This is a dynamic intellectual event based on the model of business accelerators. Each participant has only five minutes to “sell” their idea for change to “investors” — an expert jury composed of representatives of local authorities and youth self-government leaders.
Main task:
To propose one specific change in the city or community governance system. The idea should be aligned with the principles of Open Government:
Transparency: How can the work of officials be made visible?
Participation: How can young people be involved in decision-making?
Technology: How can digital tools simplify interaction with the authorities?
This is a chance not only to express an opinion, but to be heard by those who make decisions. The best projects will receive support for implementation, while their authors will have the opportunity to undertake internships in relevant departments or become advisers to government representatives.

For one week in May, come together to share ideas, discuss solutions, and commit to new levels of citizen participation in government.

15 Years of the Open Government Partnership

OGP Logo

Fifteen years ago, OGP launched with a simple but radical premise: that government should serve the people, not the other way around. Over fifteen years, OGP has become the foremost global forum for advancing transparency, accountability, and public participation in government.

In an era of democratic regression and geopolitical fragmentation, platforms that sustain targeted collaborations among likeminded states and between governments and civil society are strategically vital. OGP is one of the few to endure.

The next phase requires action across the partnership: Governments forming cross-border coalitions to address common priorities; political leaders integrating openness into core national agendas; donors and funders sustaining investment and enabling scale; civil society continuing to propose, push, monitor, and demand.

The question ahead is scale and commitment.
